Plenty of Events this Summer 2022

There are plenty of events  to visit this summer. The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee has ensured Cumbria has plenty for you to do this summer, concerts and activities scheduled for visitors to enjoy-take a look at some of the ones we have highlighted and get booked!

Tree Tops Windermere 

Swing, climb, balance and fly through ancient British woodland canopy on ‘Tree-Tops’ breath-taking aerial challenges and zip wires. On the edge of Lake Windermere.

Ravenglass Railway 

Enjoy the coastal sights of the Lake District UNESCO World Heritage site on the historical Ravenglass Railway. Travel across the estuary, through the hills, past seven request stops with a 1:40 gradient at times, en route to our final destination at Boot Station.

Ullswater Steamers 

Ullswater ‘Steamers’ is an award-winning environmentally accredited Lake District attraction celebrating 160 years of operating cruises on England’s most beautiful lake. Operating one of the largest heritage vessel fleets in the world, offering visitors an experience they will never forget.

Brockhole 

Located between Windermere and Ambleside, Brockhole on Windermere is the perfect place for adventurous couples. With a variety of outdoor activities, such as water sports, archery and boat hire.

Segways 

The best way to explore the south Lakeland landscape. Lakeland Segway’s are now taking bookings for tours around the picturesque village of Cartmel, but you need to be quick! Spots are filling up fast.

Grizedale Forest

Grizedale forest in the heart of the Lake District World Heritage Site, offers an unrivalled day out for everyone. Including Sculpture park, cycling tracks and walking trails.

Levens Hall 

Home to the world’s oldest topiary garden, Levens hall will be fully open to the public from the 17th May. enjoy the sunshine wandering the spectacular gardens or visit the historical hall for a guided tour.

Osprey Spotting at Foulshaw Moss 

If you fancy a picturesque walk around one of our local nature reserves this is the perfect day out for you, plus the chance to see one of the rarest nesting birds in the UK.

Holker Hall | 2022 Events

Holker Hall is probably our most prestigious stately home in Cumbria and there is much to see during  every season of the year. Take a look at their events calendar and make a date in your diary to visit-

Cartmel Races | 2022 Events

The highlight of the social calendar! Dates have been announced throughout the Spring/Summer season. The first meet is on Saturday 28th May and there are still tickets available. If you can’t make that event there are plenty more to consider – https://cartmel-racecourse.co.uk/whats-on/

Racing has been taking place at Cartmel since 1856. Set against the backdrop of the beautiful English Lake District, Cartmel Races rekindles the spirit of the original steeplechases, attracting large crowds who gather within the centre of the racecourse for picnics and a flutter on the horses!

This year finally sees David Gray in concert  24th June – having been cancelled twice due to COVID

Leighton Hall | 2022 Events

We are blessed with stately homes in Cumbria and Leighton Hall near Carnforth is yet another

The ancestral home of the world-renowned Gillow furniture family, Leighton Hall is still lived in today and is no stuffy museum

Events this year range from Shakespeare performed in the garden to UB40, Sister Sledge and The Halle Orchestra performing – hurry and book your event
