Ingleton Waterfalls / 11 minute drive from Absoluxe

One of North Yorkshires Natural Wonders, the Ingleton Waterfall trail is a visual delight. The 2 ½ hour walk is challenging in parts, however the views are well worth it! With stunning falls and woodlands to explore. The most spectacular waterfall on the route is ‘Thornton Force’ with a height of 46ft, cascading down the imposing limestone cliffs.

There is a chargeable fee per person to enter the trail which goes towards the upkeep of the falls. Plus, school holidays can be busy so be sure to pick your time slot to beat the crowds.

Also, make sure to bring your Walking Boots!


Ribblehead Viaduct / 22 minute drive from Absoluxe

Ribblehead Viaduct - near Kirkby Lonsdale

Hidden in the imposing shadow of Ingleborough lays the Ribblehead Viaduct. 24 impressive stone arches built along the Settle to Carlisle line. The 32 meter high structure was built 1870, it took 1000 men to build the viaduct, many of which unfortunately lost their lives. There are now memorials along the line to mark the loss of life.

You can drive straight up to the viaduct and walk among the impressive archways. You may even be lucky enough to see a steam train travelling over the viaduct.


Malham Cove / 40 minute drive from Absoluxe

Explore North Yorkshire - Malham Cove

Malham Cove is a gently curving cliff of white limestone formed over 1 million years ago by a fault in the earths crust. Famed for its starring role in both ‘Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows’. As well as being a filming location for Helms Deep, in the Oscar winning ‘Lord of the Rings’.

The cove is 400 steps to the top, however the views are well worth the hike! You may also be lucky enough to see the spectacular Tightrope walkers, who occasionally take to the vertigo inducing heights of the cove!


Ingleborough / 11 minute drive from Absoluxe

Ingleborough, Yorkshire Dales

The tallest mountain in the famous Yorkshire 3 Peaks challenge. Ingleborough stands at an impressive 2372ft and is a challenging walk at times. However, the views from its summit are hard to beat. On a clear day you can see as far as Snowdonia in North Wales and even the Isle of Man.

You can also get incredible views of Ingleborough from our penthouse suite ‘The Columbus’.


White Scar Caves / 14 minute drive from Absoluxe

White Scar Caves, North Yorkshire

The Longest show cave in Britain.

A spectacular natural cave system in the Dales National Park. Set off with your guide along the cave trail to see underground streams and waterfalls, thousands of stalactites, and the massive Battlefield Cavern. Don’t miss the famous Judge’s Head stalagmite and experience ‘The Squeeze’. But don’t worry, no one has got stuck in its 92-year history, Yet!


Skipton Castle / 50 minute drive from Absoluxe

Skipton Castle, North Yorkshire

Over 900 years old, Skipton Castle is one of the most complete and best-preserved medieval castles in England and is well worth a visit at any season of the year.

Visitors can explore every corner of this impressive history-rich castle, which withstood a three-year siege during the Civil War. View the Banqueting Hall, the Kitchen, the Bedchamber and Privy. Climb from the depths of the Dungeon to the top storey of the Watch Tower.
