All Britain Fleadh

Kirkby Lonsdale’s Irish Music Festival

Friday, 28 June 2019 to Sunday, 30 June 2019

Kirkby Lonsdale is set to take centre stage for one of Ireland’s most prestigious cultural events! The 2019 Traditional Irish Music Festival.

Kirkby will be taken over by musicians from far and wide competing and performing in venues around the town. 600 of the best musicians in Britain will compete. From under tens, to experienced seniors taking part in 49 contests, in a total of 245 competitions!

Not only is the All Britain Fleadh a competion, it is also a Festival. There will be concerts and events happening over the weekend. On Saturday, 29 June there will be a Super Céilí. With reigning with All-Ireland champions The Blackwater Céilí Band at Kirkby Lonsdale Rugby Club.

Up and coming Scottish folk band Talisk will also be performing at St Mary’s Church on Saturday, 29 June. Talisk are highly regarded as one of the finest folk bands in the country, we are thrilled to welcome them to our town!

There will also be an Irish Cafe, where visitors can learn and speak the Irish language. Hosted by the Book Loungeon, Main Street.

Plans are for a grand concert on the Saturday at St Marys Church which will include several harpers for a spectacular show of song music and dance. An outdoor stage is planned for the Market Square. Another first is a competition where shop windows will be decorated with an Irish or music theme! with prizes for the best displays.
