Sally Proctor – Artist in Residence

Artist Sally Proctor studied Art & Design at Manchester Metropolitan, graduating in 2012. Her studies focused on the importance of creating art work to help those suffering from mental illness. And most importantly to inspire creativity. She has lent her hand to a number of different disciplines throughout her career. Including portraiture, life drawing, Mosaic and more recently abstract and geometric work that can be seen in the entrance hall at Absoluxe.

Sally works locally at her studio at home in south Cumbria, therefore her work is strongly influenced by her upbringing in the Lake District. Above all, sally’s work fits perfectly with Absoluxe’s mentality of working with local talent. And as a result has pride of place in the suites.

You will find her artwork throughout the building plus themed pieces in each room. We asked Sally if she had a personal favourite work of art at the premise. “i really enjoyed creating all the works, however one piece does stand out. The elephant portrait in the Oasis was the inspiration for the whole suite. without him the room would look and feel very different”.

We hope you enjoy there impact. To find out more or to contact Sally directly via email at [email protected]. Or take a look at her Instagram account @sallyproctor.art
